10 FEBRUARY 2018
NUUKSIO NATIONAL PARK, FINLAND
Put on your cosiest sweater, pack your woolen socks and join us for a very special winter gathering. This workshop retreat will lead you deep into the woods of the Finnish national park Nuuksio, to Villa Juhani built right by the lake. In this beautifully cosy space we will heat up by the fireplace and spend a day learning, creating, styling, cooking and eating.
If you’re a stylist or florist, a photographer, a lifestyle or food blogger wanting to refine their skills or learn to create that magical atmosphere you see in other’s images, we invite you to join us for a workshop retreat packed with all the best advice and tricks we have learned through the years.
After a welcome round and a delicious brunch made by Tuulia, you will learn to create organically wild winter floral centrepieces in a specially handmade vessel by Savisisko to adorn your winter feast table. Michaela and Lotta will teach flower arranging techniques and give you insights into their floral design process. All of your floral creations will adorn the center of our winter dinner in the late afternoon.
Next you will cook and bake up some deliciously healthy dishes together with Tuulia. In smaller groups you each will get to contribute a dish to our feast. Michaela will teach you on how to plan and style the most perfect table setting for your dinner, choose the right location and best light to make your styled settings look amazing on camera, and on how to capture details in the best way possible.
Tuulia will share her food styling and photography secrets with you before we can finally sit down and enjoy the scrumptious meal, some good drinks and each other’s company. If there’s anything left uncovered, there is time for a Q&A over dinner too.

Villa Juhani, Hawkhill
Less than an hour from the center of Helsinki, you find yourself in a beautiful, serene piece of Finnish nature. Nuuksio national park is covered in conifers and birch forests nestled along its rolling hills and the shores of its 43 lakes. In February, hopefully, this natural paradise is covered in snow and ice - transforming it into a magical winter landscape.
Nestled into the woods, at the shore of Kaitlampi lake, you can find Hawkhill Nature’s cosy cottages and greywood villas. The largest and newest one of them, Villa Juhani will be our home for the day. This beautiful space with its rugged atmosphere, lovely fireplace and luxury amenities is the ideal backdrop for creating, learning and eating delicious food.
If you’re travelling from further or you’d like to make this a full weekend retreat, you can rent one of Hawkhill Nature’s luxury villas or traditional cottages. Many of them are directly neighbouring Villa Juhani, so you don’t have to worry about transport. Kick back and enjoy a couple of cosy days in a winter wonderland! Heat up the sauna after a long day of travelling and/or creating with us, and if you’re brave, take a dip in the frozen lake.
All villas and cottages are self-catering and sleep from 4 to 8 guests. If you’d like to share a place with some fellow students, just drop us a line and we will gladly connect you.
You can rent a cottage or villa directly from Hawkhill Nature’s website.
